The Calverley group is an agency offering promotional merchandise and corporate gifts to clients of all sizes, across all industries. Following the website we created for them to promote the Walletflash USB drive, Calverley came to MCM Net again to commission the build of four new websites.
The websites to be created were ‘Outdoor Branded Merchandise’ an outdoor merchandise website, ‘Express Pendrives’, a USB stick website, and One Stop Pen Shop, a website specialising in branded pens. They also wanted a website titled The Calverley Collection, which would feature all their ranges.
On top of this they required MCM Net to produce two logo designs, one for Outdoor Branded Merchandise and the other for the One Stop Pen Shop website.
Solution
MCM Net created four websites, each following a similar design style to encourage brand consistency. The two logo designs were created with The Calverley Group original logo in mind in order to encourage brand recognition with website users.
We integrated enquiry systems into the four websites so that users can search through different product categories and save products of interest along the way to an enquiry basket called ‘My Collection’. Products are easily added by clicking on the product and pressing the ‘Add to Enquiry’ button.
After the user has saved their preferred products to ‘My Collection’, they can forward the saved products to Calverley as an enquiry along with their business contact details in order to obtain a quote on the products. Alternatively, the user can forward the information to themselves by email, as well as copying in another colleague so that the quote can be shared with the business’ chief decision maker, for example.
The CMS system allows The Calverley Group to edit products and categories, product descriptions, images and prices on the website independently, as well as adding and removing images. MCM Net also added a search facility which allows users to search for products by keyword as well as track order history and directly print order details and order sheets via an integrated automatic labelling system.
Rollovers were added to the products so that users can easily view the physical details at a closer scale without having to click on the product directly. In order to find out more detailed product information, users can click on each image to produce information such as minimum order quantity, colour, materials, size, branding options, lead time and packaging.
On top of this, Calverley are able to manage the back-end of all four websites via one large admin area, due to MCM Net creating a centre point that allows them to make changes to all websites. Here, changes can be made which apply to all four sites and therefore removes the need for separate log-ins for each individual website and, reducing the chance of errors.
As the same products often feature on more than one of the sites, it was important that having one admin area where changes were made meant all sites automatically updated the identical product accordingly.
Although Calverley receive each customer enquiry via email, the admin area also enables them to view online customer enquiries for all four websites.
Result
The results of the four websites have been a success, and clearly show that having a streamlined back-end reduces the amount of time spent on editing and updating the sites. Having an admin area which edits all four sites means the changes need only to be made once, and are applicable to all products.
